In 2024, Almas picked up her paintbrush for the second time in her life — not for an audience, not for a client, but simply out of instinct. What began as a quiet return to a long-lost love soon to create art became something more.
Inspired by fashion, form, and the emotional essence of a moment, Almas started creating bespoke keepsakes for friends and family - thoughtful illustrations that celebrated style, personality, and the feeling of the day. The response she got was overwhelmingly heartfelt, and soon her sketches began travelling from one event to the next through word of mouth alone.
As demand grew, so did her vision: she wanted to offer something more personal, more lasting, and more meaningful than traditional party favours or entertainment. That idea became Illustrations by Almas — a live illustration studio capturing guests’ essence in elegant, fashion-inspired watercolour portraits. Faces are intentionally left blank, allowing the clothing, posture, and individuality to speak for themselves — a modern, timeless keepsake.
Today, Almas paints live at weddings, showers, birthdays celebrations, and milestone events across London and the South East — creating beautiful, lasting memories for every guest she sketches.
In addition to live event painting, Almas also creates one-off bespoke commissions — often intimate, miniature portraits inspired by her Indian heritage. These pieces blend vibrant, expressive colour with delicate linework, echoing the richness of traditional design while retaining a contemporary, personal touch. Each commission is an invitation to honour culture, memory, and identity through thoughtful, hand-painted detail.
